Chiefs WR Rashee Rice looks like a blossoming star in the NFL, and he's handling the Bengals' ridiculous disrespect of Xavier Worthy with tremendous class ahead of Week 2.

Speaking to the media following Thursday's practice, the second-year wideout out of SMU insisted he's purely focused on showcasing his abilities on the field. There's no need for verbal shenanigans when we'll see these teams play in just a few days.

Considering how dominant Rice looked in Week 1, it's a wise move indeed.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Dismisses Bengals Disrespect

"We just let our play do the talking," Rice said. "We're locked in."

These comments echo what veteran S Justin Reid said following the Ravens' embarrassing comments after their Week 1 loss. The Chiefs have leaders in the building with experience competing at the highest level. Most other teams don't have that luxury.

Rice caught seven passes for 109 yards on nine targets against the Ravens, firmly establishing himself as the alpha in this offense over Travis Kelce. The torch has been passed, and Rice clearly doesn't intend on letting it go. He's becoming a leader, learning from the example of the excellent players who have come before him.

Whether or not Worthy has a huge game or scores another couple of TDs isn't particularly relevent. Instead, fans should focus on the superb professionalism displayed throughout the Chiefs' locker room. Even relatively new players know how to behave, which is something few organizations can say.

The Chiefs are a clear step ahead of the lowly Bengals and this is merely the latest example indicating as such.
