You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink, just like you show a seventh-round rookie how to not be an instigating goofball but can't actually make him listen to a word you say.

New Raiders DB Trey Taylor took advantage of the Chiefs' off-day to go viral in what's quite possibly the least intelligent thing I can ever remember seeing a rookie do. Patrick Mahomes just won a Super Bowl in Las Vegas' building, though apparently Taylor wasn't paying enough attention to remember that.

When a fan apparently gave Taylor a 'Kermit the Frog' doll fashioned after Mahomes, Taylor took the opportunity to ensure Mahomes would never forget his name.

Rookie Raiders DB Cowardly Challenges Patrick Mahomes in NSFW Insult

It's hard to overstate how ill-advised this decision was from Taylor. He's never played in a game and is actively fighting for a roster spot, yet still took the time to say "I'm a b----" while mimicking Mahomes' doll.

Perhaps he didn't know he was being filmed, but that theoretical cowardice only makes the action worse. The Chiefs are 19-3 against the Raiders in their last 22 meetings, none of which came in the postseason since Las Vegas doesn't typically make it that far. Again, Taylor wouldn't know, as he's literally never played in the NFL.

Mahomes notoriously keeps receipts. If Taylor is fortunate enough to make the 53-man roster, you can bet that Mahomes will remember this video when these AFC West rivals square off.

In hindsight, Ja'Marr Chase took the right approach. It's much better to simply refuse to say a player's name out of respect than whatever you'd call Taylor's weird antics here.

Good luck in camp Trey, you'll need it!
