Patrick Mahomes Will Love Latest Chargers Injury Update
By Cem Yolbulan
The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready for an AFC West showdown against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Getting their fourth win out of the first four games of the season will cement the Chiefs' status as AFC frontrunners and extend their lead over their closest division rivals to two games.
At this stage of the season, every team is dealing with serious injuries. The Chiefs ruled out Mike Danna for the game as the veteran defender is joining Charles Omenihu and BJ Thompson on the sideline.
The Chargers, however, are dealing with even more significant absences. Star quarterback Justin Herbert and prized rookie offensive lineman Joe Alt are questionable to play Sunday. All-Pro left tackle Rashawn Slater has already been ruled out.
What will give the Chiefs the bigger advantage, however, will be the absence of Joey Bosa. The star pass rusher left their game against the Steelers after the first drive with a hip injury and wasn't able to practice this week.
NFL News: Joey Bosa and Rashawn Slater Out vs. Chiefs
The Chargers have a top-five defense through three games. Bosa's strong start to the season is a big reason for that. He had two sacks and seven solo tackles in the first two games of the season, receiving a 90.8 overall PFF grade.
Bosa is not the only veteran defender who will be missing the game. Starting safety Derwin James Jr. was suspended for Week 4 earlier in the week. AJ Finley will likely get the majority of the snaps there while Bud Dupree and Tuli Tuipulotu will try to replicate what Bosa can do as a pass rusher.
