Chiefs Kingdom was elated when the team officially signed former first-round WR Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown to a team-friendly, one-year contract to fill a speed role akin to Tyreek Hill.

Fans aren't the only ones excited and Patick Mahomes is already planning to start working out with his new weapon.

The two reportedly plan to meet in Texas, where Mahomes often works with receivers in the offseason, to get to know each other and begin preparing for a potential three-peat.

Patrick Mahomes and Hollywood Brown Working Out Together This Week

This is a mutually beneficial acquisition, as Brown represents the exact kind of player that the Chiefs offense has been missing. Kansas City needed him and he wanted to win, hinting that he took less money to join the back-to-back Super Bowl champions.

Brown had 1,008 receiving yards with Baltimore in 2021 and compiled 21 TDs in his first three seasons. However, injuries and a bad offense depreciated his stats in Arizona. Brown had 709 yards in 12 games in 2022 and just 574 yards in 14 contests last year. Now that he's in a high-octane offense with the best QB on the planet, I expect Brown to return to his 2021 form.

The Chiefs still need other receivers to fill out the roster and should be active in the NFL draft, perhaps even signing another veteran in free agency as well.

I'm optimistic that Brown has a great season before signing another contract to stay in Kansas City, though Brett Veach needs to prepare for all possible outcomes. For now, Mahomes and Brown are getting to work - I can't wait to see the fruits of their labor on the field.
