Watching Patrick Mahomes on a weekly basis is, by far, the best part of being a Kansas City Chiefs fan. While it's always enjoyable to watch the team as a whole, nothing compares to watching the two-time NFL MVP turn the most ordinary-looking plays into things that you could only dream about doing in a video game.

Hell, the NFL uploaded a 58-minute Mahomes highlight reel to their YouTube channel back in May, illustrating just how easily and often he pulls off these mind-blowing feats.

Even though the 2024 regular season is still a month away, Mahomes already appears to be in mid-season form if his latest practice highlight is anything to judge.

Chiefs Training Camp: Mahomes, Pacheco Connect on Behind-the-Back Pass

During Wednesday's 11-on-11 drills, the Chiefs offense appeared to be running a play that was designed for tight end Travis Kelce. As a wide-open Kelce turned around, Mahomes threw the ball behind his back to running Isiah Pacheco, who waltzed into the end zone untouched.

You can check out the impressive play below, which was uploaded by Chiefs fan Kasey Rowzer.

As awesome as Mahomes' pass was to watch, it isn't the first time that he's similarly fooled the defense. He connected on a similar play with wideout Skyy Moore during last year's training camp.

You can even find more recent examples than that one. June's minicamps saw Mahomes practicing behind-the-back-passes with rookie rush Carson Steele, who didn't catch the ball nearly as effectively as Pacheco or Moore.

Mind-boggling passes are only one of the many reasons that sets Mahomes apart from his peers. Since taking over as the Chiefs QB1 in 2019, the former Texas Tech signal-caller has gone on to lead the NFL in completions (1,981), passing yards (23,043), and touchdown passes (169). That's without mentioning the endless list of accolades he amassed along the way.

With offensive weapons like Pacheco, Kelce, Moore, Xavier Worthy, and Marquise Brown at this disposal, we could be in for Mahomes' most highlight-filled campaign to date. Having said that, the biggest potential highlight would be if Kansas City took home its third straight Lombardi Trophy.

Fortunately, the odds of that happening are promising. Mahomes and the Chiefs are currently tied with the San Francisco 49ers for the best Super Bowl LIX odds (+600) on FanDuel Sportsbook.
