Patrick Mahomes' Record in Cold Weather Games Should Hype Chiefs Fans
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs take on the Dolphins in the Wild Card round this Saturday with frigid conditions expected in what's been a freezing week in Kansas City.
While the Dolphins are used to the warm confines of Miami, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be right at home in the intense elements.
In fact, Mahomes' track record in cold weather should have Chiefs fans thrilled. Let's look at his history in cold weather to see why Kansas City has a big edge this weekend.
Patrick Mahomes' Stats in Cold-Weather Games
That's pretty darn good!
The Chiefs are a perfect 4-0 straight up AND against the spread in temperatures at 18 degrees or below, and an equally impressive 11-1 (10-2 against the spread) at Arrowhead Stadium when it's 35 degrees or less.
Contrast that with the Dolphins, who have lost 11 straight games at 40 degrees or less. They're 1-17 when the temperature is below 49 since January of 2017, so the Chiefs are in a great position to roll on Saturday.
We'll see what happens in this Wild Card showdown, but I'm confident in Mahomes, Andy Reid, Travis Kelce and the rest of the roster's ability to deliver in these elements.
