Marquee Chiefs Matchup Surprisingly Spurned From Primetime
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs will reportedly travel to Buffalo in Week 11 to square off with the Bills at 3:25 PM CST. Kansas City and Buffalo are no stranger to epic matchups, though it's a bit surprising that this game wasn't given a primetime spot.
Patrick Mahomes has three straight playoff wins over Josh Allen, though the latter has three consecutive victories in the regular season. These are the two leading candidates to win NFL MVP at FanDuel Sportsbook, so this should be another fantastic matchup between the two contenders.
We know the Chiefs will host the Ravens and Bengals to start the season, though this Bills game should have big implications.
Chiefs News: KC Reportedly Playing Bills in Week 11
Each of the last four games between these teams was decided by one score. From last-second field goals to walk-off TDs, this rivalry never disappoints fans, unless you root for the Bills of course.
Buffalo will have a different offense in 2024 and beyond. Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis are both gone, so the passing game will run through rookie Keon Coleman, Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Dalton Knox and Dawson Kincaid. On paper, the Chiefs should be favorites with mostly the same roster as last year's Super Bowl champion.
Even if the Bills topple the Chiefs in this contest, no one will believe Buffalo is a worthy adversary until the Bills get it done in the playoffs. Patrick Mahomes has proven he performs on the biggest stages, and Josh Allen has often been on the losing end of his heroics. This season will be Allen's stiffest test, and I'm excited to see how Buffalo matches up against Kansas City.
The Chiefs are currently +370 to win the AFC for the fifth time in six years, while the Bills are tied for the third-best odds at +700. We don't know the entire schedule yet, but this matchup should be a fun one regardless.
