The Chiefs are officially hosting the Bengals in Week 2 of the 2024-25 NFL season as Cincinnati travels to Kansas City for an afternoon contest just one week after the Chiefs square off with the Ravens to open the year.

DraftKings Sportsbook already has opening odds available for the matchup and Bengals fans should be afraid. The Chiefs won the AFC in four of the last five years en route to three Super Bowl rings. They're trying to become the first team in NFL history to win a third straight, and oddsmakers don't believe Cincinnati will slow the champs down.

Take a look at the first odds below.

Chiefs vs. Bengals Week 2 Opening Odds Show KC's Dominance

The Chiefs are four-point favorites with -198 odds on the moneyline and a total set at 49. Odds of -198 mean Kansas City has an implied probability of 66.44%. With implied odds of -155 against the Ravens, sportsbooks believe the Chiefs have roughly a 33% chance to open the season 2-0.

Kansas City is favored to win the AFC at +370, with the Ravens at +490 and Bengals at +700. If the Chiefs escape these first two weeks without a loss, they'll be massive favorites to win the conference once again.

Considering the circumstances, I believe in Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. This is a special opportunity to prove the AFC still runs through Kansas City, especially with the relative lack of roster turnover for the organization this offseason.

This should concern Bengals fans. Cincinnati historically starts slow, as they've lost four of their last seven games in September. Wins over the Ravens and Bengals would give the Chiefs a head-to-head tiebreaker over both AFC North foes as the year just gets started, which could ultimately prove to be too large of a hurdle for those teams to clear.

The NFL is starting the 2024-25 season with a pair of excellent matchups and I can't wait to see how Kansas City handles the test.
