Louis Rees-Zammit Shares First Photos of Workout With Patrick Mahomes

Chiefs Kingdom is buzzing with excitement about new weapon Louis Rees-Zammit, who Andy Reid announced would play a role both as a running back and on special teams.

It seems that the former rugby star is a lock to make the roster or practice squad, and now he's joined the cabal of Chiefs players working out with Patrick Mahomes down in Dallas.

New photos emerged from the workout session and it looks like Rees-Zammit is making himself right at home with the three-time Super Bowl MVP.

Mahomes and his trainer, Bobby Stroupe, routinely conduct these workouts that've become famous in Chiefs lore. Rees-Zammit has a lot of work to do, having never played football, and he's taking advantage of the opportunities given to him.

Already one of the fastest players on the roster, Rees-Zammit needs to condition his body for the wear and tear of professional football while learning the intricacies of the playbook. Being around Mahomes will show the Welsh athlete how to conduct himself, so this is a win for all involved.

Rees-Zammit is likely a year or two away from making a sizable impact on the team, but it's possible he sees some playing team even in his first season. Kansas City only has Isiah Pacheco and Clyde Edwards-Helaire at running back on the active roster and Rees-Zammit projects as a quality kick returner given the new rules.

No matter what happens in his rookie season, Rees-Zammit is learning from the best of the best and I"m excited to see what he can do.
