K.J. Adams Reveals Decision on KU Basketball Future
By Joe Summers
The Kansas Jayhawks already know Dajuan Harris is coming back for one more year with the program and now valuable big man K.J. Adams will join him.
There was speculation about what Adams would do following a disappointing blowout loss to Gonzaga in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, but Adams took to social media to announce he was returning to Kansas.
This is great news for the Jayhawks, who now just await the decisions of Hunter Dickinson and Johnny Furphy along with potential transfer recruits.
Kansas Basketball News: K.J. Adams Returning to Jayhawks
In a quick social media post, Adams declared that he never intended to leave. He's become one of Kansas' best players over the last two seasons, showcasing impressive athleticism to dominate smaller defenders and run past slower ones.
He averaged 12.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game this year and shot over 60% from the field in each of the last two seasons.
Adams is an experienced, battle-tested veteran who helps form the Jayhawks' identity. It's a big get for Bill Self, especially considering he wants to maintain continuity by potentially bringing back four starters from the 2023-24 roster.
It remains to be seen what Dickinson and Furphy decide, though this is great news for Kansas basketball fans nonetheless.
