While the much-maligned Kadarius Toney struggled mightily in a forgettable 2023 campaign highlighted by a strange rant on Instagram, it appears he still factors into the Chiefs' plans for a potential three-peat.

Patrick Mahomes has been working out in Texas with newly-signed WR Hollywood Brown and Toney was spotted down at the private workout getting reps in as well, suggesting he still has a role to play for Kansas City's offense.

Especially with the uncertainty surrounding Rashee Rice, Toney could be a pivotal player early in the season.

Just one year after setting a Super Bowl record with a 65-yard punt return to help win the game against the Eagles, Toney had a miserable season.

He dropped five passes in the Week 1 loss to the Lions and finished the campaign with just 27 catches for 169 yards and one TD. Toney was a healthy scratch in the playoffs and needs to prove he belongs on the roster, as this is his final year under contract.

Overall, I still believe in what Toney can bring to a roster. He has a rare blend of agility and toughness, routinely breaking tackles when he gets the ball in open space. Kansas City is in the process of reshaping the wide receiver group, so Toney needs all the extra work he can get to prove he belongs.

Fingers crossed these extra reps will help Toney rediscover the immense promise that made him a first-round draft pick.
