Joe Buck Accidentally Reveals Chiefs' Monday Night Football Details
By Joe Summers
The 2024-25 NFL schedule is set to be released on Wednesday, and Joe Buck accidentally spilled the beans about Monday Night Football.
Appearing on Good Morning America, Buck mentioned having the Cowboys, Bills, and Chiefs all twice. He's the play-by-play voice for Monday Night Football, so he'd certainly know what the schedule was.
Kansas City will host Baltimore and Cincinnati in the first two weeks of the season, though neither of those contests will be played on Monday.
Joe Buck Reveals Chiefs Have Two Monday Night Football Games
We know who the Chiefs opponents will be, just not when they'll play them. With the Bengals and Ravens already off the board, the list is dwindling of potential Monday Night Football opponents for Kansas City.
I'd guess that one of the games comes on the road and one at home. The Chargers or Texans would represent exciting home matchups, while the Bills, 49ers, or Falcons would be viable options on the road.
It's possible the NFL knows that ratings will be high for Monday Night Football anyway and thus will schedule a cupcake, like the Panthers or a divisional game against the Broncos or Raiders. Kansas City lost on a Monday on Christmas to Las Vegas last year, so maybe we'll get a rematch.
Either way, I'm thrilled to find out what the exact schedule will be. The Chiefs lost to the Eagles on Monday Night Football in 2023 but had six consecutive Monday victories prior to that. Patrick Mahomes is still the NFL's best QB, and I think we'll spend this whole season watching the rest of the league be terrified of Kansas City.
Judging by the early reports of possible primetime games, the whole world will have a front-row seat to watch the Chiefs dominate.
