Hollywood Brown Shares First Injury Update After Surgery
By Joe Summers
Chiefs WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown underwent surgery on his shoulder on Monday and it sounds like things were a success.
He shared positive comments on X.com (better known as Twitter), a piece of good news after the onslaught of injuries Kansas City has dealt with over the last few days. Brown is still likely to be out for most of the season, but it's a good sign that he could return at some point and be active for the playoffs.
Isiah Pacheco's fractured fibula remains a major concern, so it's nice to hear that Brown's surgery went well.
Hollywood Brown Shares First Update After Surgery
Brown has been public about his intention to get back on the field and fight his rehab with vigor. The Chiefs will need him in the long run, especially considering the other injuries that Kansas City has suffered.
While Brown and Pacheco are out both, the offense will run through Rashee Rice and Travis Kelce. The latter is off to the slowest start of his career, but Rice looks like a bonafide WR1 and Patrick Mahomes' new favorite target. Provided the Chiefs can squeeze some juice out of Carson Steele, Samaje Perine, and the backup receivers, the offense should be just fine.
Kansas City's schedule is about to get lighter too. They face the Falcons in Week 3, Chargers in Week 4 and Saints in Week 5 before a much-needed bye. The coaching staff and front office will know more about everyone's health at that point in preparing for the stretch run.
For now, it's a blessing to see Brown share the positive news and all hope he can return healthy as soon as possible.
