The Chiefs may have beaten the Bengals in Week 2, though the victory came with a significant cost. Not only did RB Isiah Pacheco suffer a fractured fibula that'll keep him out for the foreseeable future, but veteran S Justin Reid also hurt both of his hands during the game.

While Reid was able to come back and finish the game, he told Vahe Gregorian of The Kansas City Star that he broke a finger on his left hand and isn't yet sure what happened with his right one.

After missing time in training camp and the preseason with a different injury, Reid's health is suddenly a topic to watch moving forward.

Justin Reid Suffers Two Hand Injuries During Week 2 Win

He wound up with seven tackles after notching nine in Week 1. Reid is one of the defense's most important leaders, and the team needs him on the field to reach its ceiling.

Head coach Andy Reid didn't talk about Reid's injuries when he met with the media on Monday, a positive sign for his availability in Week 3 against the Falcons. Kansas City is a 4.5-point favorite over at FanDuel Sportsbook, so oddsmakers think the Chiefs are in great shape regardless.

With Hollywood Brown out for most of the year, if not all of it, and Pacheco's status uncertain, the two-time defending Super Bowl champions have been dealt a tough blow early in the year. Charles Omenihu is still recovering from his ACL tear and Clyde Edwards-Helaire is on the injured reserve list, giving the team a handful of important players on the sidelines.

We'll see if further updates come out on Reid throughout the week. It doesn't sound like he'll miss time, though hand injuries could linger if not properly treated.
