George Brett Has Hilarious Souvenir Request if Kauffman Stadium is Torn Down
By Joe Summers
Jackson County voters will decide in April if a 3/8th-cent sales tax will be extended to help finance the construction of a new stadium for Royals baseball. If the new stadium does get built, Royals legend George Brett has a peculiar request.
If Kauffman Stadium gets torn down, there is just one item that Brett wants as a keepsake: a urinal.
No seriously, he wants to take a urinal from Kauffman and put it in his home. See for yourself below:
George Brett Wants a Urinal From Kauffman Stadium
Having been to Kauffman Stadium many times, I'm not entirely sure why a urinal is what sticks out to Brett but hey, to each their own.
During a 21-year career in Kansas City, Brett became the most iconic player in franchise history. He hit .305 for his career with 317 home runs and 1,596 RBIs, finishing in the top three of MVP voting four times and winning it in 1980 with one of the best individual seasons we've ever seen.
Brett was the most important player on the 1985 World Series team, and remains an iconic figure in and around Kansas City.
While I'd personally want a chair from the stands or maybe even a bit of dirt or grass, Brett has his eyes on another item. We'll see what comes of the vote next month, but if it passes then we know the first thing Brett will try to do.
He's always been a bit quirky and this latest example is no different.
