Former Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Kelvin Joseph will be on the hunt for a new team to join heading into Week 4.

According to Mike Chappell of FOX59/CBS 4, the Colts released Joseph off the practice squad on Tuesday. With Joseph being released and not waived, he can immediately sign to another team's practice squad or 53-man roster.

The 24-year-old Joseph joined the Colts before Week 2 after being released by the Chiefs ahead of last month’s roster cutdown deadline. The former Dallas Cowboys draft pick had a phenomenal training camp with the Chiefs and made a strong case to be on the 53-man roster.

The Chiefs dealt with numerous injuries at cornerback during training camp, which allowed the former second-round pick to get more reps. Joseph had a forced fumble and two special teams stops in the preseason.

Before making his way to Kansas City earlier this year, the former Cowboys defender spent the 2023 season with the Miami Dolphins and the Seattle Seahawks. Over his four-year NFL career, Joseph has posted 39 combined tackles, four pass deflections, and a tackle for loss across 31 games.

The 6-foot-1 cornerback has yet to find that perfect situation after beginning his career with the Cowboys. However, Joseph showed this summer in Kansas City that he can be a solid NFL CB and bring solid depth to a team’s secondary.

With that in mind, it would not be shocking to see him get signed to another team’s practice squad in the next few weeks.
