Week 9 vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (MNF)

After back-to-back road games in Weeks 7 and 8, the Chiefs will return to Arrowhead Stadium to face... a third NFC South team. After likely defeating the Falcons and Saints, Andy Reid's squad will attempt to take down the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in another MNF tilt.

The Buccaneers exceeded expectations last season and even reached the NFC Division Round, but they still aren't on the same level as Super Bowl contenders. That fact was proven by Tampa Bay suffering losses to the likes of the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, and Philadelphia Eagles, losing those four games by an average of 11.8 points.

Yes, the Buccaneers eventually beat the Eagles in the Wild Card Round, however, they wound up losing to the Lions by eight points in the following game. It also remains to be seen if Baker Mayfield is truly the quarterback he showed he could be last season or if his 2023 performance was a fluke.

This matchup will also be Tampa Bay's ninth consecutive game, so I wouldn't be shocked if the visitors are running on fumes. With the home-field advantage coming into effect here, too, I expect the Chiefs to outmuscle the Bucs on a chilly November night.

Score Prediction: Chiefs 24, Buccaneers 14
