Final Score Predictions for Every Chiefs Primetime Game on the 2024 Schedule
Week 5 vs. New Orleans Saints (MNF)
Before the Chiefs reach their Week 6 bye, they must dispose of another NFC South team. This time around they must go one-on-one with the New Orleans Saints under the Monday Night Football spotlight at Arrowhead Stadium.
The Saints have one of the better defenses in the NFC, but there offense leaves too many unanswered questions. Will Derek Carr remain productive? Are Alvin Kamara's best days behind him? Can New Orleans get more production from its wideouts outside of Chris Olave and Rasheed Shaheed?
If the Saints don't get the answers to those questions in the first four weeks, they're going to struggle against the Chiefs' world-class defense. Kansas City had one of the best pass defenses and was solid against the run while only allowing 17.0 points per game between the 2023 regular season and playoffs (2nd).
This Week 5 matchup will also be the Saints' third road game in four weeks, so I expect a bit of fatigue due to travel and homesickness catching up to them at that point. Maybe they'll score some garbage time points, but the Chiefs will get off to an early lead before putting this game out of reach.
