2023 preseason standout WR Nikko Remigio quickly became a fan-favorite of Chiefs Kingdom last year and he's now pushing to make the 53-man roster as Kansas City wraps up OTAs (offseason team activities) and gets set for mandatory minicamp.

Many expected Remigio to make the roster last year, though he was ultimately waived with an injury designation and wound up on the practice squad. He's off to a hot start this summer and the coaching staff is clearly noticing.

Speaking with media following the second portion of OTAs, Matt Nagy sang Remigio's praises. The Chiefs' final optional portion is June 4-7 Remigio looks like a player to watch.

Matt Nagy Praises Chiefs WR Nikko Remigio at OTAs

Remigio stands out in practice, works hard in meetings, and provides special teams value. He had 71 receiving yards in his lone preseason game last year. The Chiefs appear to have their top six receivers set, though Remigio looks like the next man up if anyone goes down or if Rashee Rice is ultimately suspended.

Montrell Washington has impressed coaches as well. He and Remigio may be fighting for that seventh spot in the WR room, creating an interesting battle throughout camp.

Hollywood Brown, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Skyy Moore, and Kadarius Toney feel like locks to make the roster. That's already six names but with Toney not participating in OTAs yet, Remigio had an opportunity to shine.

If you take Nagy's word for it, shine he did. The Chiefs have a special chance to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls and they need a strong locker room to do it. Remigio is clearly becoming part of the organization's plans, so I'm rooting for him to continue his great work so far this summer.
