Rashee Rice is still embroiled in controversy following his involvement in the six-vehicle crash in Dallas that injured four people last Saturday. His lawyer, Royce West, met with the media on Thursday and explained that Rice was driving the Lamborghini involved though is fully cooperating with police.

The questioning took a combative turn when reporters pushed West about Rice potentially being entitled and endangering others, to which West responded that the media should judge Rice for who he is as a person instead of this one incident.

Now, a former teammate and ex-Chief is taking to social media to defend the young WR.

Rice is generally beloved by his teammates, though this is obviously a mistake that cannot happen again. The four individuals were reportedly treated for minor injuries but the situation could have been far more tragic.

It's not yet clear what, if any, punishment Rice will face from the NFL or Chiefs. Team president Mark Donovan told KCMO Talk Radio that the organization was gathering facts and would respond appropriately though the Chiefs have not yet released an official statement on the matter.

Willie Gay, who signed with the Saints in free agency after spending four years with Kansas City, stuck up for Rice and urged others to use grace.

Other players have not commented on the matter. West told media that Rice would speak publicly sometime within the next week.
