Drue Tranquill Recruiting Former Chargers Teammate for Chiefs

Fresh off signing a nice three-year extension to stay with the Kansas City Chiefs, Drue Tranquill is now serving as a lead recruiter in free agency.

After former teammate Mike Williams was released by the Chargers, Tranquill immediately took to social media aiming to bring the stud WR to the Chiefs. Tranquill is quickly becoming a fan favorite, and his full embrace of Kansas City is a large reason why.

Could Tranquill be the push Williams needs to come to town?

While Williams has struggled with injuries throughout his career, he's a dynamite talent that's routinely roasted the Chiefs in AFC West divisional matchups. He was due $32 million, so it's understandable that Los Angeles moved on, but he'd still be a fun fit in Kansas City.

The former Clemson star isn't the only player Tranquill was recruiting though, as he's trying to get in Marquise "Hollywood" Brown's ear too.

In a poignant touch, Tranquill emulated the message Andy Reid sent him when he was deciding what team to sign with last year. Reid told him to "See Red" and "Think Super Bowls," a pair of sentiments Tranquill ultimately took to heart.

We'll see if his efforts are ultimately successful, though it's obvious that Tranquill is ingratiating himself with the fanbase. I don't have a Tranquill jersey yet, but I expect to see quite a few pop up in Kansas City over the next few months.
