Drue Tranquill Leaks Another Chiefs Signing on Reporter Call

The Chiefs have been busy in the offseason, bringing back several veterans on top of the massive Chris Jones extension. It seems they're re-signing another key veteran who played a pivotal role in the playoffs and Drue Tranquill, of all people, broke the news.
Appearing on a Zoom call with Chiefs reporters after signing an extension of his own, Tranquill may have spilled the beans on Mike Pennel's contract situation, as the interior defensive lineman is returning to the organization.

Pennel saw little regular-season time but came on strong in the postseason, notching 12 tackles and three stuffs.
He saved his best game for last, compiling six tackles in the Super Bowl win over the 49ers. Pennel adds much-needed veteran depth to the defensive line and his knowledge of Steve Spagnuolo's system means he can fill in should one of the starters go down with injury.
