Dream Chiefs Draft Pick Officially Declares for 2024 NFL Draft
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs need to target a playmaking wide receiver early in the 2024 NFL Draft and my No. 1 dream target is now officially in the mix.
Florida State WR Keon Coleman, who has 18 TDs over the last two seasons for a team that went undefeated this year, declared for the draft Wednesday. He'd be a perfect fit for Kansas City, providing the offense with a deep-ball threat who routinely makes contested catches with ease.
Even if Brett Veach has to ultimately trade up, I'd move heaven and earth for Coleman.
Chiefs Draft Rumors: FSU WR Keon Coleman Goes Pro
The junior from Louisiana had 658 yards this year after posting 798 last year with 18 combined TDs, emerging as one of the country's most dangerous players for a team many thought should've been in the College Football Playoff.
He's frequently made rounds on social media with incredible one-handed catches, and it's hard not to think he represents the exact kind of player the Chiefs' offense currently lacks.
With 12 punt returns for 300 yards as well, his versatility bodes well for his potential role on the team. Recent mock drafts have Coleman going somewhere between 20-40, so it's within reason to think the Chiefs have a chance.
This is a kid that fits here. At 6'4", 215 LBs, his physicality at the catch point makes him a difference maker, especially relative to the current roster.
I'm salivating at the idea of pairing Coleman with Rashee Rice, and they both have excellent speed to create yards after the catch as well.
If you want to improve this offense overnight? Draft Coleman. I'll be banging this drum all offseason and can't wait to see what comes of the draft.
