Chiefs fans hoping the team signs Chris Jones to a long-term extension won't like hearing this, but it sounds like Jones is already preparing for life after Kansas City.

In a pregame interview prior to the Chiefs' loss to the Packers on Sunday Night Football, Jones gave his honest thoughts on his future with the organization.

See what he had to say below.

Chris Jones Comments on Chiefs Future

"If we're speaking truthfully," Jones said. "This could be my last year with the Chiefs."

He continued that he wouldn't harbor ill-will towards Kansas City and understands the business side of things. Nonetheless, it'd be heartbreaking to watch one of the most dominant and beloved players of the last decade play for a different team.

"Hypothetically speaking, if this is my last year," reflected the Defensive Player of the Year finalist. "I have given this organization everything I have. I've exhausted everything."

Jones said he hopes to return to Kansas City and emphasized his appreciation for the fans and organization. The two sides will reevaluate a potential extension in the offseason, though the Chiefs' cap situation may force Jones to look elsewhere for the massive payday he deserves.

If this is indeed Jones' last ride, he'll go down as one of the greatest players to ever put on a Chiefs uniform.
