Chiefs fans are all too familiar with their star defender Chris Jones and his wits when talking to the media. On Wednesday at the team's kickoff luncheon, the five-time Pro Bowler was in rare form. Trash-talking his coaches with his usual tongue-in-cheek attitude, Jones referred to defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo as "a dictator".

When asked about the key to playing in Spagnuolo's defense, Jones said "you have to understand he's a dictator".

Chris Jones Trolls Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo

This is in line with what we already know about Spagnuolo. As the only coordinator to win Super Bowls with two different franchises and one of the most respected defensive minds in football, Spagnuolo likes things his way. That is how he was able to create some of the most consistent and reliable defensive teams in recent memory.

Spagnuolo's calling card is his single-game defensive plans. His units always got better as the season went along and hit its peak during the postseason. His high-risk scheme that prioritizes chaos and defensive playmaking has consistently done wonders for the Chiefs during the dynasty run.

The leader of those defenses has been Chris Jones, and now that he is back from his preseason injury, he will continue to be so. The star defensive lineman who has 34.5 sacks over the last three seasons epitomizes Spags' defensive philosophy better than any player. So any player who is hoping to fit in and thrive under that system better listen to the captain.

The Chiefs signed Spags to a contract extension following the Super Bowl victory, so "the dictator" isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
