The Chiefs will reportedly host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2 of the 2024-25 NFL season on Sunday, September 15, at 3:25 PM CST.

Kansas City is hosting the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1, meaning the Chiefs will face two of their biggest rivals in the AFC in consecutive weeks to start the campaign. Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs have two straight wins over the Bengals, though Cincinnati is the only team in the conference to prevent Kansas City from reaching the Super Bowl in the last five years.

This should be an excellent matchup, as the Chiefs have a stiff test against a pair of contenders in the first couple of weeks of the new season.

Chiefs News: KC to Host Cincinnati Bengals in NFL Week 2

I believed the NFL would give the Chiefs a road game, likely in the NFC, after opening against a tough AFC foe in Week 1. The NFL had other ideas in mind.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Chiefs favored to win the AFC at +370, the Ravens second at +490 and then the Bengals and Bills tied at +700. That means Kansas City will face two of its three biggest AFC challenges in the first two games.

If the Chiefs win both of these contests, they'll have a stranglehold on the conference before we even reach October. Conversely, a loss to either team would give national pundits the fuel to declare a new challenger is here to knock the Chiefs off their throne.

Schedule-makers decided to create maximum levels of drama to open the year and I'm thrilled for it. Weather should be ideal at GEHA FIeld at Arrowhead Stadium for these September contests, and we know Chiefs Kingdom will show up ready to rock.

The Bengals have notoriously been plagued by poor starts in recent years. They're just 3-4 outright in their last seven September games, so Kansas City may be catching Cincinnati at the perfect time.

As the Chiefs try to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, the organization welcomes any and all challengers. The full schedule will be released on Wednesday, March 15, but I'm fired up about what we know thus far.
