The Kansas City Chiefs officially revealed their plans for renovations at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, unveiling their goal for an extension of the 3/8th-cent sales tax that Jackson County residents will vote on April 2nd.

Owner Clark Hunt and President Mark Donovan spoke to media on Wednesday, showing renderings and answering questions about the potential renovations and investment.

Take a look at the renderings and proposed additions below.

Chiefs Reveal First Look at Potential Arrowhead Stadium Renovations

These renovations would come in conjunction with the proposed new stadium for the Kansas City Royals in the Crossroads District downtown, and the Chiefs have plans to utilize the potentially vacated space at the Truman Sports Complex.

New VIP experiences and a new video board are highlights, but the most significant proposal appears to be the creation of an "Activation Zone" with turf, tailgate areas and a covered entertainment space to enhance the pre-game tailgating experience.

The changes don't represent a major shift. Rather, the Chiefs plan to enhance the features at Arrowhead Stadium that fans already love while restoring the aging facility.

Ownership is committing $300 million to the estimated $800 million project, leaving a gap that the state of Missouri would cover through the 3/8th-cent sales tax, among other funding initiatives.

Kansas City is in its golden era of football, and these renovations may soon be part of Chiefs Kingdom's game-day experience within several years.
