The Chiefs are reportedly bringing in beloved former RB Kareem Hunt for a visit on Tuesday, paving the way for a reunion with one of the best backs available.

Star Isiah Pacheco suffered a fractured fibula in Sunday's win over the Bengals and is expected to be out for some time. After a disastrous end to his original tenure in Kansas City, Hunt suddenly has the opportunity to return in glorious fashion with the team trying to win a third consecutive Super Bowl.

It's unclear whether or not he'll be signed, though it's a significant development that the organization is willing to consider it.

Chiefs Hosting RB Kareem Hunt for Visit on Tuesday

After being selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, Hunt led the league in rushing yards (1,327) in his rookie season. He came one of the most popular players on the team before a domestic violence incident led to his release.

It was thought that team ownership wouldn't want to bring Hunt back given his transgressions and reported dishonesty, though it seems that enough time has passed that he could earn forgiveness. He was a dynamic dual-threat back for the Browns over the last half-decade, a role he could reprise for Kansas City.

Many fans have been begging for this reunion for years. With Pacheco on the shelf, Hunt has an opportunity to not only gain redemption in Chiefs Kingdom's eyes, but also to earn a championship.

It's a major development. Kansas City is one step closer to what would be an unexpected reunion, and the reports indicate it's a heavy consideration for the coaching staff and front office. After everything that's happened, Hunt just might still win a ring with the team that drafted him.
