Mecole Hardman will live forever in Chiefs Kingdom after catching the Super Bowl-winning TD in overtime against the 49ers, and now he's been immortalized in his hometown of Bowman, Georgia, as well.

The city erected a nine-foot tall granite statue in Hardman's honor, showing him in his Georgia Bulldogs jersey while recognizing Bowman as the "Home of Mecole Hardman, Jr., 3 Time Super Bowl Champion" at the bottom.

Hardman is a beloved teammate and leader for the Chiefs, so it's neat to see his home honor him with such a nice tribute.

Mecole Hardman Honored With Statue in Hometown

The back of the monument contains Hardman's bio, saying, "Mecole Hardman, Jr. was selected with the 56th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2019 NFL draft, where he has played in 3 Super Bowls in his first four years in the NFL. Mecole was named to the 2019 NFL Pro Bowl, All Pro and All Rookie Teams and became a Super Bowl LIV, Super Bowl LVII and Super Bowl LVIII champion. He caught the game winning touchdown in Super Bowl LVIII."

While Hardman started last season with the New York Jets, he came over to Kansas City midseason and made huge contributions in the playoffs, catching three passes for 57 yards and the aforementioned TD in the Super Bowl.

He credited his strong relationship with Andy Reid for re-signing with the Chiefs and now hopes to compete for his fourth Super Bowl ring and a historic three-peat.

Bowman noted Hardman's contributions to the community as well, writing, "Mecole has supported the youth of Elbert County and students with disabilities by being a member, volunteer, and officer of the friends helping friends club, while attending Elbert County Schools and also during his collegiate and professional career."

It's a well-deserved honor for Hardman and a testament to the relationshps players have with their respective cities. Congratulations to Mecole and here's hoping more accomplishments are worth celebrating in the near future.
