The Chiefs continued their flurry of free agency re-signings on Tuesday, agreeing to a one-year deal with eighth-year safety Deon Bush.

While Bush's playing time was limited this year, he snagged a crucial interception against Lamar Jackson in the AFC Championship despite playing only three snaps, cementing his status as a Kansas City legend en route to his second consecutive Super Bowl ring.

He'll likely see the field more this year, provided the team doesn't re-sign Mike Edwards, giving the Chiefs a loaded secondary pending the possibility of a L'Jarius Sneed trade.

Chiefs Roster News: KC Re-Signs S Deon Bush to One-Year Extension

Bush spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs after being in Chicago for six years as a former fourth-round draft pick. He played 22% of the snaps in the AFC Championship game but figures to have a much larger role in the 2024-25 iteration of the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.

The veteran defensive back had only seven tackles in the regular season, though made one of the biggest plays of the entire postseason against Baltimore.

With Bryan Cook returning from the Injured Reserve list, the Chiefs appear set at safety. Justin Reid, Cook, Bush and Chamarri Conner look like fixtures on the roster, likely marking the end of Edwards' tenure in Kansas City.

I'm excited to see what Bush can do in an expanded role. Brett Veach has prioritized keeping most of the championship roster together, and Bush is just the latest example.
