The Chiefs reportedly re-signed veteran DT Derrick Nnadi, the latest example of Kansas City's desire to bring as much of the band back as possible as the organization attempts to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.

A former third-round pick from 2018, Nnadi has spent all six years of his career with the Chiefs, amassing three Super Bowl rings in the process. He started all 17 games for Kansas City last year, helping fortify the interior defensive line alongside Chris Jones.

Here's the latest on the transaction:

Chiefs News: KC Re-Signs DT Derrick Nnadi to Contract Extension

Having started at least 15 games in four of the last five years, Nnadi is an underrated, consistent presence for a defense that emerged as the NFL's best in 2023.

He finished with 29 tackles, one sack and one deflected pass, though his impact goes beyond the box score. At 6'1", 317 LBs, he's a force in the trenches and makes things easier for the defenders around him.

We're waiting to see what happens with L'Jarius Sneed's potential trade situation, though the Chiefs have been successful in retaining the core of the defense otherwise.

Once again, Kansas City should be in pole position to win another Super Bowl. At the very least, it's obvious the AFC runs through GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs currently have odds of +310 to win the AFC and those odds feel like a bargain given the successful offseason to this point.
