Chiefs Playmaker’s Injury Looks Even Worse in New Video
The Kansas City Chiefs are back in the building. They are looking to secure an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl but the work starts now.
The Chiefs started practicing on July 21 as they look to sharpen their skills before the pads come on.
This group has quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce leading the way. The biggest thing that is always scary is the injuries that can happen in training camp.
One of the Chiefs' playmakers was hurt in Tuesday's practice and the video made it look bad.
Chiefs News: Justin Watson Has Injury Scare at Practice
In the video, Watson can be seen catching a pass from Mahomes but his left leg was caught under him and he fell down awkwardly.
He was on the ground riving in pain. That isn't what KC Kingdom wants to see from a productive playmaker in the WR corp.
In 2023, the 28-year-old finished with 27 receptions for 460 yards and three touchdowns. With all the uncertainty surrounding Rice and Xavier Worthy dealing with an illness, the Chiefs would love to have Watson taking every rep he can.
The hope for the Chiefs is that Watson's injury isn't too serious so he can get back onto the field soon.
These couple of weeks of training camp go a long, especially for a team like Kansas City. Things that are being practiced now translate to the regular season. Also continuing to build that connection with Mahomes is what matters most.
The 2018 fifth-round pick has been a solid playmaker for the past two years but is off to bad start in 2024.
