The Chiefs are in an interesting spot after the surprising Friday news that WR Marquise "Hollywood" Brown is having shoulder surgery on Monday and was placed on the injured reserve list. He could miss the entire regular season, leaving Kansas City without one of their top receivers.

While the organization likely feels confident in the group they have after a great performance in Week 1, fans are justifiably concerned given the position's struggles in 2023. It's fair to argue upgrades are necessary, and one Pro Bowl wideout is being floated as a possible target.

Browns WR Amari Cooper is a top-tier wideout. He's trapped in a disastrous situation thanks to Deshaun Watson's pathetic level of play, and Patrick Mahomes would instantly revitalize Cooper's career.

Browns WR Amari Cooper Floated as Possible Chiefs Target

Cooper proved in 2023 how effective he can be with even halfway-competent QB play, something Watson doesn't look capable of providing. Joe Flacco helped Cooper unlock a new level, catching 72 passes for a career-high 1,250 yards and five TDs.

At six-foot-one and 211 pounds, Cooper is a physical downfield threat with an incredible ability to make contested catches. His play style is one that Kansas City's current receiver room lacks, and he'd instantly give the Chiefs the NFL's most dangerous offense.

Cooper, Xavier Worthy, Rashee Rice, and Travis Kelce are a terrifying group, not to mention the power that Isiah Pacheco packs in the backfield. It's a far-fetched idea but if Brown's recovery timeline stretches through the season and Kansas City's offense struggles.

Cleveland's season might be over already barring a dramatic turnaround from Watson. Cooper is too good to waste away in that purgatory. Brett Veach has an interesting opportunity and should at least see if the Browns would listen to an offer.
