The Kansas City Chiefs have a big bullseye on their back heading into the 2024 regular season. But what else would you expect? They've won two straight Super Bowl titles and are looking to secure their third straight title.

The Chiefs have taken the offseason to evaluate the roster for the 2024 season. There are a few players who didn't make the cut and one of them was a former Missouri Tiger.

Chiefs News: Tyree Gillespie Reaches Injury Settlement

According to Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com, the Chiefs reached an injury settlement with former Missouri safety Tyree Gillespie.

Gillespie entered the league in 2021 with the Las Vegas Raiders but has struggled to make an imprint in the league.

The 26-year-old was working hard to make the team after he missed the entire 2023 season with a knee injury. During this summer he was dealing with an undisclosed but it's not clear if it was linked to his knee injury.

The Chiefs have five safeties on the roster. That list includes Chamarri Cooper, Bryan Cook, Jaden Hicks, Nazeeh Johnson, and Justin Reid.

They seem to like that room rolling into 2024 and decided to release Gillespie from the IR.

There will be some more roster reconstruction going on throughout the season as players get hurt. This is just the beginning of a long 2024 season that's on the way.

Now the Chiefs can focus on the Week 1 opener against the Baltimore Ravens. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Kansas City is a three-point favorite.
