The Kansas City Chiefs have been busy changing their offense ahead of Sunday's primetime contest against the Atlanta Falcons. Earlier this week, Kansas City lost standout running back Isiah Pacheco to a devastating leg injury that will keep him sidelined for several weeks.

With Pacheco out for a substantial amount of time, the Chiefs brought back a familiar face to the organization, signing veteran running back Kareem Hunt to the practice squad. In addition to the running back room, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid made a notable change on the offensive line.

On Friday afternoon, Reid told reporters that offensive linemen Kingsley Suamatia and Wanya Morris would rotate at left tackle.

Most Chiefs fans were confused to hear Reid say they would do a left tackle rotation, given its superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ blindside. That is nothing to play around with as this Falcons’ defensive line has some talent with Matthew Judon and Grady Jarrett.

Nonetheless, we received some clarity on the Chiefs’ left tackle situation on Sunday, which may or may not shock fans.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Wanya Morris will be Kansas City’s starting left tackle, instead of Suamatia. The rookie offensive lineman was named the starter coming out of training camp, but he struggled in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Suamatia gave up two sacks to Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson and committed a crucial late penalty. The Chiefs eventually pulled the rookie and put Morris at left tackle.

The second-year offensive lineman also had a critical penalty last week against Cincinnati. But Kansas City feels comfortable starting Morris in this spot, especially after starting four games last season as a rookie.
