The Kansas City Chiefs have a major hole to fill at running back. Isiah Pacheco is sidelined for the foreseeable future with a fractured fibula. Head coach Andy Reid provided a bleak update on Pacheco's return, leading to questions on when he'll step back on the field.

Kansas City pivoted and signed Kareem Hunt to the practice squad. Although that news took over the news cycles, that wasn't the only move that the Chiefs made at running back.

Chiefs News: Kansas City Add Another Running Back To Active Roster

Per the Chiefs' official X page, they have signed running back Keaontay Ingram to the active roster ahead of the Week 3 contest against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football.

Ingram is entering his third season in the NFL. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He signed with Kansas City's practice squad back in August and now has the chance to showcase something in the absence of Pacheco.

In 20 career games, Ingram has compiled 62 carries for 134 yards and one touchdown. His work is cut out for him as he's behind Carson Steele and Samaje Perine on the depth chart.

But regardless, the Chiefs wanted to have another depth piece heading into the primetime game on Sunday Night Football.

The loss of Pacheco isn't something easy for the Chiefs to overcome but with head coach Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes running the ship, Kansas City will surely be able to stay afloat.
