Kadarius Toney missed the last two weeks due to injury but it appears he'll be good to go in Week 18, as images surfaced of him returning to Chiefs' practice on Wednesday afternoon.

We already know Blaine Gabbert is starting instead of Patrick Mahomes against the Chargers, though it seems the coaching staff wants to get certain receivers some action before a hopeful Super Bowl run.

After notching the longest punt return in Super Bowl history last year, Toney may be a big part of the plans.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney Returns to Practice

Toney has been one of the most maligned players on the roster this year after dropping several critical passes against the Lions in Week 1.

Things haven't gotten much better from there, and he's currently sitting at 27 catches for just 169 yards and one score.

He looks explosive when he touches the ball, but actually catching it has been a problem. For the former first-round pick that had the lowest drop rate in college of any wideout in his class, that's a surprising and disappointing development.

I still believe in Toney and think he'll make an impact in the playoffs. This Sunday might be the first step towards realizing that potential reality.
