Well, this escalated quickly, didn't it?

After missing the Chiefs' disappointing loss to the Bills in Week 14, Isiah Pacheco reportedly had "clean-up" surgery on his shoulder early this week and will be out for Kansas City's showdown with the New England Patriots in Week 15.

See the latest on Pacheco and others' injury statuses below.

Isiah Pacheco to Miss Second Consecutive Chiefs Game

Pacheco has been perhaps the Chiefs' most consistent offensive performer this season, accumulating 779 rushing yards with six TDs while adding 209 yards and score through the air.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Jerick McKinnon filled in admirably last week, but there's no denying the juice that Pacheco brings to the offense.

Outside of the former seventh-round pick's status, Donovan Smith's absence is interesting. Rookie tackle Wayna Morris was impressive last week and seems to be a potential starter, so this will give the coaching staff an extended look at a potential cornerstone for the offensive line in future years.

Nonetheless, this is bad news against a stout run defense and I hope the Chiefs are ready to pick up the slack.
