Anyone who thought the Kansas City Chiefs would get complacent and have a quiet offseason just because they've won back-to-back Super Bowl has been proven very wrong. GM Brett Veach continues to work hard to improve this roster even further, and the most recent exciting signing was wide receiver Marquise Brown.

It's not just that Brown was added that's exciting, either. Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report reviewed the best and worst contracts of the offseason and Brown was his first pick for the offseason's best contract.

Chiefs News: Marquise Brown Contract Named Best of the Offseason

Brown's "best contract of the offseason" was a one-year deal worth just $7 million that is loaded with incentives.

Brown carries just the No. 33 cap hit among all NFL wide receivers, according to Spotrac, even ranking behind guys like JuJu Smith-Schuster, Adam Thielen and Robert Woods. Talk about value.

If Brown is going to earn significantly more money, that's going to be tahnks to hitting marks like 1,000 receiving yards ($1.5 million incentive), playing 75% of the snaps ($1.5 million) or scoring 7 touchdowns ($1 million).

If Brown bursts onto the scene as a 1,000-yard receiver and scores 7 touchdowns, there's not a single person around the league who's going to think that bumping up to $11 or $12 million is an overpay. The Chiefs would gladly pay that money for the production.

The Chiefs are sizeable +350 favorites to win the AFC again in 2024, and the incredible offseason from Brett Veach plays a big role in that.
