Depending on who you ask, the Chiefs may still have a hole at wide receiver even after signing Marquise 'Hollywood' Brown and drafting Xavier Worthy in the first round.

Rashee Rice may be suspended to start the year, which would potentially leave Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney, and Justin Watson with large roles in a season Kansas City expects to win a third consecutive Super Bowl.

That's what makes recent reports out of Tennessee so interesting, because it looks like the Titans are ready to move on from 2022 first-round pick Treylon Burks after only two season.

Chiefs Should Consider Acquiring Titans WR Treylon Burks

Brett Veach is known for taking low-risk chances on former high draft picks and Burks could be his next reclamation project. The former Arkansas star has struggled with injuries, though it looks like he could be acquired at a low cost.

These are the kinds of moves that have helped the Chiefs stay ahead of the competition. Burks hasn't done much in the league yet, though he's got great size for the position at 6'2" and 225 LBs with a knack for making contested catches.

Burks is averaging 13.6 yards per catch in his career, though he's been a victim of the quarterback purgatory known as the Titans' QB room. His ability to fight for catches down the field is exactly what the Chiefs have been missing in recent years.

If Brett Veach can acquire him for a late draft pick, especially given the Chiefs could wind up with extra picks due to the compensatory formula, he should strongly consider it.

Burks could be a missing piece for this team. If things don't work out, there's no harm in cutting bait by the end of his contract. If things do work out, you've got a first-round talent at a massive discount.
