The Chiefs returned to the practice field on Wednesday with several important players back from injury. They had a much-needed day off on Tuesday and now return a much healthier group of players.

DT Chris Jones, WR Hollywood Brown, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and CB Jaylen Watson are all practicing, leaving S Justin Reid and WR Justin Watson as major Chiefs still sidelined.

For the four returning players, none of their respective injuries/ailments were considered significant, though it's exciting to see them all back on the field regardless.

Chiefs News: Four Key Players Return From Injury

Jones gave Chiefs Kingdom a scare when he missed Sunday's practice with a groin issue as the team's most important defensive player. He sets the tone defensively and as a veteran leader, has an opportunity to mentor the younger guys along the defensive line.

Edwards-Helaire revealed he was dealing with PTSD symptoms and needed time away. He's one of the offense's more experienced veterans and an important part of the backfield, though all hope he's getting the care and support that he needs.

Neither Brown nor Watson's injuries were particularly concerning. Similar to Jones and Edwards-Helaire though, they'll play pivotal roles for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions. Watson is expected to help fill the void left by L'Jarius Sneed's departure, while Brown is one of the top pass-catching options learning a new offense, creating a greater importance for these training camp practices.

All in all, it's an exciting day for Kansas City. Injuries feel like one of the only things that could derail the quest for a three-peat. If the Chiefs make it through the next few weeks relatively unscathed, they'll be in fantastic shape to start hot against a pair of AFC contenders in the Ravens and Bengals once the season starts in a little over a month.
