The Kansas City Chiefs head into the 2024 campaign looking to repeat as Super Bowl champions. They were just at the mountaintop in February when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 to raise the Super Bowl LVIII trophy.

That now feels like a lifetime ago. The Chiefs have consistently been a topic of discussion over the offseason but it wasn't for the right reasons.

Multiple players have put themselves in bad positions and got caught in some legal trouble. Now the Chiefs decided to let go of a player who had a few runs in with the police.

Chiefs News: Kansas City Is Releasing Isaiah Buggs

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Kansas City Chiefs are releasing defensive lineman Isaiah Buggs.

Buggs, 27, has been in the news cycles for all the wrong reasons. Back in May, he turned himself in for misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.

Instead of staying on the straight and narrow, Buggs continued to display bad behavior and had another incident with the police.

This time, Buggs was arrested over second-degree domestic violence and second-degree burglary charges. He was held on a $5,000 bond and was later released from custody.

The Chiefs decided they couldn't condone this type of behavior and released Buggs, which was the right move.

Buggs signed to the Chiefs practice squad in January but never saw the field. Now he'll never have the chance to don the red and white uniform but that's for the better.

He consistently put himself in terrible situations and acted out which led to legal troubles. Making that mistake once is already enough. But to continue down that path is downright unacceptable.

Buggs' time with the Chiefs was short but that is for the better.
