Charles Omenihu Gives Update on ACL Tear Recovery
By Joe Summers
Chiefs' defensive end Charles Omenihu is recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL and he recently gave an update on social media on his progress.
He posted a picture of him rehabbing with a follow-up tweet declaring he was "chosen" and nothing can stop him, indicating he's attacking his recovery with the vigor and determination we saw from him on the field this season.
Omenihu has a long way to go in his rehab, but this is good to see nonetheless.
Charles Omenihu Gives Positive Rehab Update on Knee Injury
After serving a six-game suspension for domestic violence, Omenihu returned and immediately became one of the best players on Kansas City's defense.
In 11 games, he finished with 28 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles and two deflected passes. He added three tackles, a sack and forced fumble in the playoffs prior to his injury, helping give the Chiefs the NFL's most formidable defense en route to a Super Bowl.
Omenihu is under contract for one more season and has already declared a desire for a contract extension. Kansas City has a lot invested on the defensive line already with Chris Jones, George Karlaftis and Felix Anudike-Uzomah, though if Omenihu plays like he did last season Brett Veach may not have a choice.
Fingers crossed the rest of his rehab goes well and we see the pass rusher on the field sooner rather than later.
