Trade speculation is running rampant for the Chiefs in the wake of Rashee Rice's injury, and another star receiver was linked to Kansas City by ESPN's Adam Schefter that'll have fans excited.

Browns WR Amari Cooper is on an expiring contract with just over $1.2 million in base salary remaining. He's seemingly falling out of favor in Cleveland. If the Browns keep losing and want to get some value for the five-time Pro Bowler before it's too late, the Chiefs are a perfect fit.

Cooper isn't the only big-name wideout linked to Kansas City, but he might make the most sense.

It's unlikely that Kansas City makes a move ahead of the bye in Week 6. They'll take on the Saints on Monday Night Football and use time to evaluate the guys already on the roster. Perhaps the team's brass will feel comfortable, though it seems like a trade is the inevitable outcome.

Cooper caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five TDs last year. In five of his eight full seasons, QBs had a passer rating higher than 100 when targeting him. He's a physical downfield threat who would complement Xavier Worthy's speed with his contested-catch ability.

While Cooper currently leads the NFL in drops with six, he's got a long enough track record that fans should feel comfortable with a half-season rental. Considering his minimal contract, Cooper is the perfect swing if the Browns are willing to part with him.

All options are on the table. The Chiefs probably aren't making a decision this week or next, though Kansas City could soon be welcoming a new star WR to the roster.
