Andy Reid All-Time Record and Coaching Results Against the Eagles
By Joe Summers
All eyes are on the NFL game of the week as our Chiefs host the Eagles in a Super Bowl rematch on Monday Night Football.
With various storylines like the Kelce brothers squaring off and Taylor Swift's ties to the Philadelphia Eagles, it's easy to forget Andy Reid is facing his former team as well.
Reid spent 14 years with the Eagles, winning 130 games before coming to Kansas City and hoisting two Super Bowls.
This is the fifth time Reid will face the Eagles since his departure and he's a perfect 4-0 thus far. Let's go through each game:
Andy Reid All-Time Record and Coaching Results Against the Eagles
Chiefs Defeat Eagles 26-16 - September 19, 2013
Whew, 10 years goes by so fast, doesn't it?
This was Reid's first game back in Philadelphia and the Chiefs delivered a triumphant victory in his honor.
Alex Smith completed 22/35 passes for 273 yards, while Jamaal Charles added 20 carries for 92 yards and a TD as the Chiefs smothered the Eagles' passing game. Mike Vick was only 13/30 with two interceptions and six sacks, 4.5 of which came at Justin Houston's hands.
This game is a beautiful reminder of how far we've come in Reid's tenure. Our leading receiver was Donnie Avery with seven catches for 141 yards, for crying out loud!
It's fitting that 10 years later, Reid's defense resembles that 2013 unit. Justin Houston, Eric Berry, Derrick Johnson and Tamba Hali were game-wreckers, just like Trent McDuffie, L'Jarius Sneed, Chris Jones and George Karlaftis are now.
You have to smile when looking back at these games, just like the next Chiefs' win from 2017.
