Andy Reid will officially be the head coach of the Chiefs through at least 2029 after agreeing to a contract extension with the organization on Monday night.

The deal keeps the NFL's best coach with Kansas City for the next half-decade as the team tries to build on its three Super Bowl titles in the last five seasons. Since joining the franchise in 2013, Reid has helped reshape the roster several times and the next few years will likely see big changes as well.

Patrick Mahomes isn't going anywhere, but some other players probably won't be around by the time Reid's contract is up following the 2029 season. With that in mind, let's go through five Chiefs who Reid could outlast after this extension.

5 Chiefs Andy Reid Will Outlast After Contract Extension

1. Travis Kelce - TE

The legendary tight end and beloved bridge from Kansas City's past to the present will be 35 years old in October. Even Travis Kelce's most fantastical supporters likely understand his playing days are nearing their conclusion and it's almost impossible to imagine him playing until he's 40.

Kelce is a lock to make the Hall of Fame, with 907 career catches for 11,328 receiving yards and 74 TDs. He's one of the most prolific pass catchers in NFL history, passing Jerry Rice in the AFC Championship game to break the mark for most postseason catches ever (165).

He's already begun preparing for a life after football, landing an Amazon Prime television show and shopping his New Heights podcast around in hopes of a major deal. We know he'll be back next year as the Chiefs try to three-peat, but every season after that is a mystery.

Reid drafted Travis' brother, Jason, in Philadelphia and saw him retire this offseason. Travis' time is coming soon, though we know he'll give it everything he's got until that day comes.

While Kelce's 1,000-yard streak came to an end last year, he still hoisted a Lombardi Trophy when it was all said and done. For this iteration of the Chiefs, that's all that matters right now.
