The Kansas City Chiefs announced major news for some of the architects of this dynastic run, as Andy Reid, Brett Veach and team president Mark Donovan have all agreed to contract extensions to keep the trio with the organization for the foreseeable future.

Reid will reportedly become the NFL's highest-paid head coach in a contract that keeps him in Kansas City through 2029, while Veach's extension makes him the general manager through the end of the decade.

As the Chiefs hope to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, this element of continuity provides a major boost moving forward.

The organization has undergone some changes to the coaching staff this season, but the major players will stay put. In addition to Reid, Veach, and Donovan, offensive coordinator Matt Nagy and defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo remain with the Chiefs while the core of the roster is intact as well.

By any measure, this has been the most successful NFL team of the last half-decade and look poised to make another deep playoff run in 2024-25. Barring injury, there's no team who can match Kansas City on paper.

With the NFL Draft starting this week, the Chiefs have an opportunity to add more impact players as well. Kansas City has done a phenomenal job in recent years with the draft, so I'm confident the front office will identify some diamonds in the rough once again.

For now, the franchise is the NFL's golden standard. Based on these contracts, it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon.
