2. Chamarri Conner - DB
Second-year defensive back Chamarri Conner is one of the players I'm most excited to watch this season. The versatile 2023 fourth-round pick is projected to start as the nickel corner though will see snaps across the field, preparing to be used as a Swiss Army Knife of sorts for Steve Spagnuolo.
Conner was on the field for only 28% of snaps in his rookie season though was second on the team in special teams snaps (78%), illustrating the trust the coaching staff has in him. Now that L'Jarius Sneed is gone, Conner is one of several young Chiefs defenders that'll need to step up.
Considering the promise he showed when given the opportunity, I expect a big season from Conner.

His season reached new heights once Bryan Cook went down with a broken ankle. Pro Football Focus gave Conner the highest grade of any safety in both the Divisional Round and the Super Bowl.
That Divisional Round win over Buffalo was Conner's best game of the year, notching 10 tackles and a forced fumble while playing 99% of the snaps. Conner showed Chiefs fans what he's capable of in that victory and now hopes to prove he can be consistently impactful.
Brett Veach is known for turning mid-to-late-round defensive backs into valuable players. Conner should be the newest example of that trend.
