3. Matt Dickerson - DT

The defensive line as a whole is one of the most interesting positions to watch ahead of cut day. Chris Jones, Tershawn Wharton, Derrick Nnadi, and Mike Pennel feel like virtual locks to make the roster, leaving one theoretical spot for Matt Dickerson or Neil Farrell to earn.

Based on the impressive work Farrell has put forth this summer, it appears he's firmly ahead of Dickerson in the pecking order. Dickerson appeared in 12 games with Kansas City in 2023, compiling 15 tackles in a limited role.

He's been impressive in his own right, though most projections have him getting cut due to Farrell's rise.

The organization would probably like to find a way to get Dickerson on the final 53-man group, perhaps through some creative injury shuffling. However, the numbers game may prove that to be a fruitless endeavor, especially considering some of the other competitive positions that will also require tough choices.

A former standout at UCLA with experience in a variety of schemes, Dickerson feels like a player who will be popular on the waiver wire around the NFL.
