3 Low-Risk Veterans Chiefs Should Sign Next After Carson Wentz

After signing QB Carson Wentz, the Kansas City Cheifs can still target these three low-risk veterans to help them win Super Bowl LIX.

3. WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Circling back to the Chiefs' need for another WR, Odell Beckham Jr. is another low-risk option that they can target.

After sitting out of the 2022 campaign, Beckham returned to the NFL in 2023 and went on to have a solid year with the Baltimore Ravens. The ex-LSU wideout was targeted 64 times across 14 games, making 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns. Was it his best performance? No, but it was a solid effort by a veteran playmaker despite Baltimore's run-heavy style.

Beckham is no longer in his prime and might not be able to pull off mind-boggling one-handed catches, but that doesn't mean he's washed up. He's still clearly a reliable target, proven by his 93.6 passer rating when targeted last season — his best mark since leaving the New York Giants.

With teams mostly game-planning to contain Rice and Travis Kelce, I could see OBJ having great success as Mahomes' No. 3 target. Besides, it was only a few years ago that he helped the LA Rams win a Super Bowl, so hopefully, he can have the same impact in Kansas City.

Also, let's not forget that it was only last month that reports emerged about Beckham wanting to join the Chiefs. It was also in 2022 when Kelce made it clear that he was open to OBJ joining the franchise following his recovery from an ACL tear.

Who knows? Like the saying goes, where there's smoke...
